Micro Pile Installation

A micropile is a type of small-diameter drilled pile typically used in construction for foundation support. It is usually less than 12 inches in diameter and can range in length from a few feet to over a hundred feet.

Micropiles are commonly used in areas where the soil is weak or where the space is limited for larger pile installation equipment. Micropiles are often used in applications such as underpinning existing structures, stabilizing slopes or embankments, or providing foundation support for new structures. They are also commonly used in seismic retrofitting of buildings or bridges.

Micropiles are made by drilling a hole into the ground and inserting a high-strength thread bar into the hole. Grout is then injected into the hole to bond the bar to the soil and form a strong foundation support. The top of the micropile is then typically capped with a steel or concrete cap to distribute the load from the structure above.
